IMPORTANT INFORMATION

It is with much regret that, for family reasons, Mrs Fiona Goode is unable to continue with the organisation of the event this year. Regrettably therefore, we are not going to be able to stage a North Devon Festival in 2016, either at Shebbear College (Instrumental and Vocal classes) or at Petroc, Barnstaple (Speech and Drama classes).

We apologise to all the wonderful and talented entrants who take part in the event each year and to their families and teachers who support the festival with such enthusiasm. Entry forms and fees will be returned in due course. We hope that the Festival will return in 2017.

Kind regards,
Fiona Goode, Nicola Cox, Pip Cartmell, Sally Meredith, Karen Turner, Mike Furber.

Welcome to the 35th North Devon Performing Arts Festival
Music, Speech & Drama Classes

Affiliated to the British and International Federation of Festivals of Music, Speech and Drama.

As part of the International Competitive Festival Movement, the North Devon Performing Arts Festival offers performers of all abilities the opportunity to develop their individual talent through the feedback, advice and encouragement of a professional adjudicator. It also enables competitors to share their work with each other through the broad diversity of classes available, which in turn encourages peer support and the enhancement of skills in a supportive, competitive environment that celebrates effort at all levels of ability and natural talent.

The organizers strive to promote an atmosphere that is friendly and supportive to all those taking part and although predominantly competitive, entrants may enter pieces non-competitively if they wish. Everyone who takes part is awarded a certificate of achievement, along with a written mark and comment sheet from the adjudicator. For a small admission fee, family, friends and the general public are all very welcome to watch any of the classes and to share in the success of the performers.

The Festival is run by a team of dedicated volunteers and to allow us to build on its success, we are keen to extend the number of volunteers needed to fill a number of key organisational positions and many other smaller supportive roles. Please contact us if you would like to volunteer your help.
